Kathmandu — The Government of Nepal has announced the construction of a new solar energy project with the goal of achieving energy self-reliance. This project is being launched as a joint initiative of the National Planning Commission and the Ministry of Energy. The project is expected to generate approximately 50 MW of electricity, benefiting several districts in the Terai region. Local residents will gain direct and indirect employment opportunities during the construction phase. The ministry stated that technical preparations are complete and construction will commence next month.
