Kathmandu — A catastrophic flash flood triggered by a potential ice-avalanche or glacial outburst near the China-Nepal border has devastated settlements along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli River basins. Major border areas including Rasuwagadhi, Timure, and Syabrubesi, along with downstream settlements in Nuwakot and Dhading, have sustained severe destruction.According to security forces, hundreds of lives have been lost, and many individuals remain missing. Infrastructure including highways, bridges, and multiple hydropower projects have suffered extensive damage. The Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police have been deployed for search and rescue operations. Emergency humanitarian aid and medical relief are being mobilized for the affected communities.
